Recently AW was able to add several American Made Shoe companies to the directory of products made in the USA. It was not an easy feat to do if I say so myself (yes, lame pun intended)

Thanks for this site. I was looking for a pair of shoes for work and wanted to buy American. Wow, I am appalled by how difficult it is to actually find suitable office-type shoes made in America. We do not seem to have a lot of know-how left about such an age-old craft. A lot of the courageous companies I saw from this site seem to be re-learning the craft of shoemaking, and are making some rudimentary looking slipper-type things using leathercrafting techniques but they are very basic. Yet I plan to support these shoemakers and wear funky-looking slipper-type shoes to work instead of slick pumps that are made in China.
I am interested in supporting American business in other ways, not just by buying products that were manufactured in America. For instance, I think we should support business that provide services without any offshoring. Fast food, technological solutions, etc -- is there any resource for finding out whether non-manufacturing business have offshored ANY of their jobs or laid off workers and then "partnered" with offshore firms? I would like to support business that are free from this behavior. Any help in locating them is much appreciated.
